My friend Peter and I were arguing about music and shit as we so often do. I hate Led Zeppelin, mainly due to them being shit. He wanks over them at any opertunity, so naturally there is some (sexual) tension between us. I like metal and shit like that, not everyone’s cup of tea but I like it so FUCK OFF. Peter also likes metal but he’s not as HARDCORE X-TREEM as me.

Anyway, we were arguing about Led Zeppelin being shit. My argument is as follows:

“Led Zeppelin are shit”.

His is:

“Led Zeppelin were influential on music that came later, so by that logic, Led Zeppelin are a good band”.

Well peter, I know someone else who was pretty influential. Hitler. That’s right, Led Zeppelin are comprable to Hitler. Basically because:

a) They were both influental

b) They were both utter shit(s)

So unless you’re willing to admit Hitler was a pretty swell frood, Led Zeppelin are shit.

As soon as I head about SOL, I was determined that i was going to pre-order it. I’ve loved Yankovic’s work for years, so I quickly ordered this on Amazon. I was slightly disapointed by the lack of a UK release, but Amazon are nice enough to have the US import edition on sale for £14.99 (A bit much for an album, I know).

This album comes in a rather stange box. It has a curve on it! A curve!!. The overall presentation isn’t much different than Poodle Hat’s, The CD (Double sided, more on this later), A booklet with the lyrics, some nice cover art.

The music is great; Ol’ Al doesn’t disapoint. With songs like I’ll Sue Ya (I sued Dell Computers, Cos’ I used my laptop in the bath, and now it doesn’t work!), and White and Nerdy (When my friends need code, Who do they call? I do HTML for ‘em all!) you’ll laugh pretty much all the way through it.

So once you’ve listened to the CD, you flip over the disc and watch a DVD with six music videos and a recording of some studio recording sessions, This is a nice bonus, but i’d be willing to do without it if the CD was £10.

I really recomend you buy this album, or if you’re a bastard, you can download it illegally (There’s actually a song on it called “Don’t download this song”, which is available legally from Yankovic’s site, brilliant).
